I hope and pray whoever happens to follow me will love and take care of it as I have tried to do, in the seventy some years I have lived here.

About the farm

The Sheets family has owned land, and farmed it for many years, on North Old State Road starting with my great grandfather who purchased the property in 1916.

It was a place where families were raised, people worked hard and everyone helped each other out. Our farm was home to traditional field crops and all kinds of livestock, including horses that worked the fields, as well as small and large animals (some of which were pets). At one point, it was even a dairy farm. But most importantly, our farm was a home. Someplace special.

Reinvesting in the land

Growing up here, my family instilled in me a deep love of our land, the community and one another.

Our farmland alongside Alum Creek is surrounded by years of labor and much care. Its existence pays homage to those who worked the land and is a celebration of those who come to visit.

Every generation has sacrificed for this land, taken risks and reinvested in it with future generations in mind. It’s now my generation’s turn to reinvest in the farm … to truly reinvent it.

Some of my fondest memories were made here. Henmick Farm & Brewery is a way for me, my wife and our two kids to write the next chapter—a truly beautiful destination to share with you.

REINVENTING THE LAND

The beauty lies in the space, the attention to detail and the respect it pays to the past.

The main building includes a spacious reception area and a full-service taproom featuring our own Henmick beer as well as wine, spirits and more. Our brewery provides an engaging backdrop for guests, especially in the historic 1860s barn that serves as the main gathering area. While the buildings and structures have character, the real draw is the surrounding beauty of our farm.

This is the next step of our family’s farm that began so many years ago, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
